Monthly Progress Review: November

It is time again for my Monthly Progress Review.

Two cool things happened to me this month that I'll highlight in this article: one with my portfolio, and one in my personal life. 

Listed below is a summary of the dividends I received, as well as the purchases I made for the month of November in my Dividend Income Portfolio:

Dividends Received
I received dividends from five companies this month: AT&T, Abbott Labs, Paychex, Proctor and Gamble, and Realty Income.  Listed below are the details for each:

*AT&T (T) - $19.35

*Abbott Labs (ABT) - $52.32

*Paychex (PAYX) - $47.17
*Proctor and Gamble (PG) - $45.88

*Realty Income (O) - $21.92

Therefore for the month of November my dividend income total was $186.64.  This is a new monthly high for my dividend income portfolio, which I was excited about. :)  I have been slowly building my positions over time, and it is nice to reach a new milestone.  I am patiently awaiting the day when I break into the $200s/mo.  Hopefully that will be a frequent occurance next year perhaps.

Purchases

Again, as stated in my August Update, I have stuck to the plan and made no new purchases this month.  I have continued to pay down debt, build cash reserves, and prepare for my upcoming home purchase. With the addition of November's dividends to my Progress Tab; however, I now have earned $1,520.89 this year in passive dividend income.  Praise the Lord! 

In other news, I also celebrated my 26th birthday, so that was cool as well.  My wife and I spent a wonderful day together; we went bowling for a few games, watched the Bronco's play, and then we each had 8oz filet's at a great local steakhouse and brewery for dinner.  Overall, a very nice day.  It is weird to think though that I have now lived over a quarter of a century and that 25 is behind me forever.  Time is moving by!

As I close this post, I am reminded again how thankful I am for all of the blessings in my life.  How wonderful is it for us to have a God who blesses us and does not treat us as our sins deserve.  Take a moment and reflect on the message to us from Psalms 103:

Psalm 103
Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, 
and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things
